Dior cruise

Without Creative Director and with Bella Hadid -new Dior muse- captaining the fashion show at Blenheim Palace, one of the most luxurious buildings in England located in Woodstock, 20 minutes from Oxford. So La Maison presented its cruise 2017 collection, which the most influential people of the fashion world didn´t want to miss. They came to the palace in the Dior Express train, decorated for the occasion even with its own dishes!

On the catwalk, different fabrics, shapes and patterns mingled unabashedly. The protagonists? Baroque and glitter dresses, and others with floral prints and reminiscences of the nostalgic English countryside. Dior designs also attracted attention because of its garments inspired by the English hunters with knitted vests, blazers and wool pieces that shared dance floor with bags, backpacks, bracelets and shoes -sometimes flat and, others, with metal XL platforms- in a masterclass of mix & match.

Traveling to present cruise collections is fashionable. And if not, just ask Karl Lagerfeld, who flew to Havana to show his new proposals. Nicolas Ghesquière not far behind, chose the imposing Niterói Contemporary Art Museum in Rio de Janeiro, to show the world the latest of Louis Vuitton. Two evocative settings like the Blenheim Palace, a majestic place that Christian Dior already chose in 1954, to deploy his gifted talent. Maison elections are never by chance.
